Creative Recession.

Has anyone else noticed how radio has been getting safer? Less money, is meaning less creativity, because no-one wants to lose that money.

And as rappers say: Get That Money. Do you ever hear them say: Lose That Money?

Drop It Like It’s Hot

“Are You Ready?”

“Let’s Go”

“5… 4… 3… 2… 1…”

“Hit it!”

So drop based radio isn’t exactly a cutting edge science.  Still, we all find the need to get into it every now again with some big Top of Hours, or some sort of song and dance number the PD/PC’s got you doing.

And sourcing stuff is annoying…

The Creative Well is Mud

wellSometimes coming up with that new great idea, from scripting to production techniques, can seem like a real chore. It can take longer and longer to come up with some great way to make your production just that little bit different to everything else in the marketplace.

Sometimes it feels like the creative well isn’t empty, it’s just become muddy with all the other ideas already used…

RANT: Churning Out the Same Generic Crap

robotYou’re not meant to clone a person.

They did it with a sheep and look how people took it.

Churning out the same stuff over and over got ? no where pretty fast.

So why do radio writers and producers do the same boring, generic, fit the same mould as the last peice, crap over and over?

We say to them: FAIL.
